This Privacy Policy explains what data the PreSet Promo Shopify app ("the App", "we", "us"), provided by PreTech Park, accesses and processes when you install it on your Shopify store, and how we protect it. PreSet Promo is a tool for merchants; we handle data on your behalf to run your promotions and show you results.
The short version: PreSet Promo accesses only the store information it needs to run your campaigns, stores anonymous storefront engagement and order totals to report your results, and never stores shopper names, email addresses, IP addresses, or payment details. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising, and we never mix one store's data with another's.
1. Who this covers
- You, the merchant — the store owner and staff who use the App in the Shopify admin.
- Your shoppers — the App runs on your storefront but is designed so it does not collect or store your shoppers' personal information (see Section 4).
2. What the App can access (Shopify permissions)
When you install the App, Shopify asks you to approve a set of permissions. The App requests only what its features need:
- Read products — To let you target campaigns to specific products and collections, and to pick a free gift.
- Read orders — To attribute revenue to your campaigns (Power and Elite) and count discount usage.
- Read & write discounts — To create, update, and remove the automatic discounts your campaigns run — and to display a code you made yourself.
- Read shipping — To power the free-shipping progress bar with your store's real shipping thresholds.
- Read markets — To offer country targeting based on the markets your store actually sells to.
The App also requests Shopify's Protected Customer Data access solely to process order webhooks for revenue attribution. It uses this only to determine which campaign an order should be credited to — see Section 4.
3. Store data we process
To run the App we access and store information about your store (not your shoppers), including:
- Your store domain and basic store settings (currency, timezone, primary language, markets, and shipping zones).
- Products and collections you choose to target or use as a gift (we read them to build your campaigns).
- The campaigns you create and their settings (dates, messages, colors, discounts, thresholds, targeting).
- The automatic discounts the App creates in your Shopify store on your behalf.
- Your subscription plan status.
4. Storefront and order data — and what we deliberately do NOT store
Storefront engagement (anonymous). When your promotions run, the App records anonymous, aggregated engagement so you can measure results:
- Banner impressions (views), add-to-cart clicks, and code copies;
- The product page a view or click happened on (by its handle);
- The A/B variant shown, where applicable.
These records do not include any shopper identity — no names, no emails, no IP addresses, no device fingerprints. The shopper's country may be used momentarily to decide which campaign to show, but it is not stored against an individual.
Order attribution (Power and Elite). To report how much revenue a campaign drove, the App receives Shopify's "order created" webhook and records:
- The order's ID (used only to avoid counting the same order twice);
- The products, quantities, and amounts on the discounted lines;
- The revenue attributed to the campaign, and which of your campaigns' discounts applied.
The App does not store the shopper's name, email address, shipping or billing address, phone number, or payment information. It reads an order only to figure out which campaign to credit, then keeps the numbers — not the person.
We never sell data, share it for advertising, build shopper profiles, or combine data across different merchants' stores.
5. How we use the data
We use the data described above only to:
- Run your promotions (show banners, create and manage discounts, power the cart bar);
- Show you results (analytics, revenue attribution, and revenue lift);
- Operate, secure, and improve the App (diagnose errors and prevent abuse).
We do not use your data for our own marketing, and we do not use it to train advertising systems.
6. Where your data is stored (sub-processors)
We keep your data with a small number of trusted infrastructure providers, used only to run the service:
- Shopify — the platform your store and our App run on.
- Fly.io — application hosting and the database where campaign and analytics data are stored.
- Upstash — short-lived caching to keep the App fast.
These providers process data only to provide their infrastructure to us. We do not send your data to advertising networks or data brokers.
7. Data retention
- Analytics history is kept for a window based on your plan — 30 days on Core, 90 days on Power, and about 13 months on Elite — after which older, detailed event records are removed.
- Headline lifetime totals for each campaign (such as total impressions, clicks, and revenue) are kept for as long as the App is installed, so your history isn't lost.
- Campaign settings are kept while the App is installed.
8. When you uninstall
When you uninstall the App, or when Shopify notifies us that your store has been removed, we delete all of your store's data from our systems, and the automatic discounts the App created are cleaned up. Reinstalling starts fresh.
9. GDPR / privacy-request handling
We support Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks and act on them promptly:
- Customer data request — if a shopper asks (through you) what data is held about them, we respond. Because the App does not store shopper personal information (Section 4), there is typically no shopper personal data to return.
- Customer redact — we remove any data associated with a specified shopper. As above, the App does not store shopper identities, so there is generally nothing to redact.
- Shop redact — 48 hours after a store is uninstalled, Shopify asks us to erase the store's data, and we do.
If you or a shopper have a privacy request, you can also contact us directly (Section 11).
10. Security
We protect data with industry-standard measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated and verified requests between Shopify and the App, per-store data isolation, and least-privilege access to only the Shopify permissions the App needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your data and to fail safely if something goes wrong.
11. Your choices and contact
- You control the App's access by choosing whether to install it and which permissions to approve.
- You can remove all data at any time by uninstalling the App.
- For any privacy question or request, email support@pretechpark.com and we'll help.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
