Help customers to estimate their shipping costs before completing checkout by adding a shipping rates calculator to the cart page of your online store.
The shipping rates calculator displays your shipping rates on the cart page of your store. If a customer is logged in, then the calculator uses the customer’s default shipping address to estimate shipping rates. The shipping rates calculator works with carrier-calculated rates, manual rates, or a combination of the two.
RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS ON CART PAGE
Some online stores display a one-step checkout process in their shopping cart page, making clear their intention of seeking conversion above anything else. This approach is good, as long as you are aware that you are missing out on opportunities to increase the average shopping cart by means of cross-selling.
Cart is the moment of truth but also an upselling opportunity. At the cart stage, personalized product recommendations play a crucial role in increasing Average Order Value (AOV) but without having a negative impact on conversion.
i) A well thought cross-sell encourages customers to add one or more complementary products to their cart. We’ve all seen the cross-sell links on Amazon like Customers who bought this item also buy that. While the Upsell is to get customers to buy a more expensive model or add features/warranties, the Cross-sell is to get customers to buy more complimentary products or products from other categories than the product being viewed or purchased.
ii) Cross-selling comes back to alternative or complementary products and product recommendations. Common labels are:

iii) When done correctly, cross-selling can be gold money. Amazon.com, for example, reports that as much as 35 percent of their revenue is from cross-selling.
MANDATORY TOS CHECKBOX ON CART PAGE
You can add an I agree with the terms and conditions checkbox to your cart page that customers must check before continuing to the checkout. If a customer doesn't check the checkbox before clicking the checkout button, an alert pop up will prevent them from continuing.
It may be desirable or necessary to require a client to indicate they have read and agree to a terms and conditions of service document before they are permitted to place an order.
DONATION FEATURE TO CART PAGE
Are you planning to run a donation system in your existing Shopify Shop? You can allow your customers to leave tips or donations on the cart page.
Donating to charity is a major mood-booster. The knowledge that you’re helping others is hugely empowering and, in turn, can make you and your customers feel happier and more fulfilled.
Having a donation feature on the cart page may increase engagements and reduce abandoned cart rate.
This may not work in a cart drawer or cart popup.
DELIVERY DATE PICKER ON CART PAGE
Enable customers select a date for delivery of their order during checkout. Orders are then displayed by delivery date so you can very quickly see when orders are due to be fulfilled. This will include a calendar on your cart page that allows customers to easily specify a delivery date for their order. This implementation is intended to help merchants who are looking to book delivery slots. For example, a food ordering service.
